Key Environmental Consulting (KEC) has been selected by NV5 Engineers and Consultants to provide National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation assistance for the Downtown Transfer Station Project in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
The new transfer station will enhance public transportation access and connectivity across Jacksonville and Onslow County, adding new passenger facilities, restrooms, shelters, and park-and-ride lots in the city’s historic downtown. KEC will support the project by preparing environmental documentation and demographic analysis in accordance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Section 106 Historic Preservation requirements.

Our scope includes defining the demographic study area, conducting GIS-based environmental and socioeconomic analyses, and performing on-site field review to document existing community and environmental conditions. The analysis will help the City of Jacksonville ensure that the new transit facilities are developed with full consideration of environmental, cultural, and community impacts.
